My name is Lauren and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 20489) trained and supervised by our founder Dr. Christine Izquierdo (PSY 27806) and Clinical Training Director Kim Cox (LMFT 115817). I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, neurodivergence, and emotion regulation mastery across the lifespan. Many of my clients come to therapy overwhelmed by OCD spectrum related distress, anxiety, depression, intense emotions, relentless self-pressure and perfectionism, or feeling alienated, misunderstood, and/or “different” than others. Whether you or your child are navigating a major life change or stressor, neurodivergence, or anxiety and stress that feels overwhelming, our work together will focus on uncovering the biological, social, and psychological factors contributing to these issues and learning practical strategies to help move you or your child back into a state of internal balance and well-being.
My clinical experience and training has been focused on supporting clients who live with chronic anxiety, spiraling thoughts, OCD, ADHD, and the weight of perfectionism and performance pressure. My background in the entertainment industry gave me a close view of this environment, where anxiety, burnout, and expectations are high, comparison is constant, and people often hide their struggles behind composure. This lived experience helps me understand creative, passionate, and ambitious clients who feel pulled in many directions and unsure how to quiet the noise. For neurodivergent individuals, these pressures can feel even heavier, especially when everyday tasks are harder than they seem for others. I help clients understand their mind’s patterns, build tools that actually fit their wiring, and develop a more compassionate and empowered relationship with themselves.
I take a holistic, client centered approach that adapts to each person’s needs while creating a safe and empowering space to grow. I integrate several evidence-based modalities in my therapy approach including Psychodynamic/Relational Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Executive Functioning Skill-Building for ADHD, Social Skills and Emotion Regulation Training for ASD, and Supportive Parenting for Childhood Anxious Emotions (SPACE) for parents and families.
This holistic and integrative approach helps clients explore the roots of their distress and unhelpful coping patterns, develop concrete tools, and move toward lasting values-driven change. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to help clients get unstuck, overcome anxiety/OCD, and reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve learned to mask. I help people build confidence, trust their abilities, and move toward a life that feels aligned, grounded, and authentically their own.
If you’re curious about therapy for yourself or your child/family and want to explore whether I might be the right fit, please reach out below and schedule a free phone consultation. I’d love to learn more about you and how I can best support you or a loved one towards living a more peaceful and aligned life.
