I am the Owner and Lead Psychologist of Straight Up Treatment. I have worked in private practice for almost 10 years, specializing in helping individuals with OCD and chronic anxiety. Prior to starting Straight Up Treatment, I trained and worked as an integrative health psychologist helping individuals manage and heal a wide range of stress and anxiety impacted health conditions like chronic illness and migraines, physical pain conditions, insomnia, autoimmune diseases, and digestive/GI issues. Straight Up’s integrative therapy approach to helping individuals with stress and anxiety-related challenges is much informed by my experience in not only healing the mind, but also the body and spirit. All of which are interrelated and need to work in harmony and balance with one another in order for us to feel and “be well.”

I still currently work with clients on an individual basis and lead our Quick Results Anxiety Management Program. My clients tend to be challenged by various stressors such as family conflict, parenting, burnout, work or school demands, relationship challenges, and managing difficult emotions and other internal experiences. This can trigger a variety of symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, OCD, depression, and health problems. I tend to be a good fit for clients that want to learn the tools and skills needed to empower their best self and cope more effectively with life’s challenges. My clinical approach is focused on improving self-esteem, emotional well-being, productivity, relationship quality, and excitement for life. I am wholeheartedly committed to helping my clients learn to live a life filled with courage, passion, and personal meaning.

I have an in-depth awareness of how stress and anxiety can hinder things like self-esteem, success, and living a fulfilled life. I use evidence-based modalities that help clients learn how to take action in their lives in order to achieve the outcomes they are looking for.

More specifically, I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure (ERP) Therapy, HRV Biofeedback, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

My treatment approach prioritizes interventions that promote growth, empowerment, resilience, and courage while also incorporating mind-body techniques like mindfulness and self-compassion training, for long-term mental and physical well-being.

In addition to my clinical practice, I spend a portion of my time supporting other healthcare providers, academic institutions, and corporate organizations on how to effectively manage anxiety, stress, and burnout in a variety of contexts. I have also published several research articles on various integrative mind-body treatments, and presented at national conferences on issues related to anxiety and OCD. I have been a board member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences and a member of many local and national mental health organizations including ADAA, IOCDF, and LACPA.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is the power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

“A sincere belief that we all have the power and ability to live our best lives inspired my decision to become a therapist.”

Mental, physical, and social wellness weren’t always core values of mine. I lived a significant portion of my life stuck in anxiety, unhealthy relationships, and chronic health issues. It took a deep desire to live my fullest life in order to change. I have devoted much of my adult life to understanding the connections between mind and body through my personal therapy, meditative and self-compassion practices, and specialized clinical training and education.
