OCD Treatment Group in Los Angeles
What Makes The OCD Treatment Group At Straight Up Treatment Unique?
Our OCD Treatment Group is a bi-weekly, in-person support group designed for young adults (18–25) and middle-aged adults (26–35) in Los Angeles who are ready to take the next step in managing OCD and anxiety.
You’ve likely already done some work in individual therapy, maybe you’re still doing it. This group isn’t about starting over. It’s about strengthening what you’ve already built: normalizing your experiences, finding accountability, and building resilience alongside people who actually understand the daily realities of living with OCD.
Led by an experienced OCD therapist specializing in Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety treatment, our group sessions combine Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) practice, personalized OCD management strategies, and community support to help you grow, heal, and move forward.
Together, we work on overcoming OCD in a supportive, compassionate environment that’s built to meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go.

Skills You’ll Build in OCD Group Therapy at Straight Up Treatment
Managing Intrusive Thoughts & Mental Rituals
OCD can feel like your brain is stuck on a loop, whether it’s constant worrying, mental checking, or needing to do things “just right.” In our OCD treatment group in Los Angeles, you’ll learn how to deal with those thoughts without getting pulled into them. We’ll help you practice skills like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), so you can feel more in control and less overwhelmed day to day.
Building Self-Compassion & Challenging The Inner Critic
If your inner critic never lets up, you’re not alone. A lot of folks with OCD are incredibly hard on themselves. Together, we’ll work on replacing that harsh voice with a more supportive one. You’ll start to build self-compassion and learn how to give yourself credit instead of constantly second-guessing everything you do.
Learning To Tolerate Uncertainty & Embrace Imperfection
One of the toughest parts of OCD is feeling like you have to be certain about everything. But the truth is, life is full of unknowns. In our OCD treatment group, we’ll help you build tolerance for that discomfort so it doesn’t take over your life. You’ll practice staying grounded even when things feel messy or uncertain, and that’s where real freedom starts to happen.
Building Stronger, More Honest Relationships
OCD can make it feel like no one else understands what you’re going through. In this OCD treatment group, you’ll connect with people who have been there. You’ll also learn how to talk about what you’re dealing with, set boundaries that feel good, and grow relationships that are more real and fulfilling.
Finding Calm & Reconnecting With The Present
When your brain is always on high alert, it’s hard to feel calm—or even just okay. We’ll teach you simple ways to reset your nervous system, be more present, and bring some balance back into your daily routine. Whether it’s better sleep, less stress, or a moment of peace, you’ll start to feel more grounded and in control.

Questions About Our OCD Treatment Group
How is group therapy helpful for OCD?
Facing OCD day after day can feel isolating, especially when people around you don’t really get what it’s like to deal with constant intrusive thoughts, compulsions, or the pressure to do things “just right.” Group therapy changes that.
In our Los Angeles-based OCD Treatment Group, you’ll be surrounded by people who know what it’s like to live with OCD, not just in theory, but in real life. That kind of understanding creates a sense of belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere. You’ll get to share wins, setbacks, strategies, and support, while learning tools and skills you can actually use in between sessions. It’s a powerful reminder that you’re not alone and that healing doesn’t have to happen in isolation.
What happens if I miss a session?
We get it—life happens. Sometimes you’ve got a conflict, or you just need a break.
Our group runs on a month-to-month commitment, and if you miss a prepaid session, we’ll do our best to apply that credit to the following month. We want you to get the most out of your time here, and we also want to make sure you’re not penalized for being human.
Will group therapy help if I haven’t done individual therapy before?
Yes, as long as you’re open to showing up, being real, and doing the work.
Many of our group members have done individual therapy for OCD before, but you don’t have to. If you’re new to treatment, OCD group therapy in Los Angeles can be a powerful introduction, especially if you’re craving community and real-world support. The key is that you’re ready to learn, grow, and try something different. You’ll be supported every step of the way.
How long should I stay in group therapy?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but we recommend giving it at least 3 to 6 months. That gives you time to build trust with the group, try out new skills, and start noticing real shifts in how you relate to OCD.
This isn’t a quick fix. Instead, it’s about building something lasting. And showing up consistently is one of the best ways to create meaningful, long-term change.
What’s the vibe of the group?
In a word? Real.
Our OCD Treatment Group in Los Angeles is warm, welcoming, and judgment-free. We keep the group small (6–7 people max), so it feels safe, personal, and connected. You’re never pressured to share more than you’re comfortable with, but most people find that once they realize others in the room really get it, they open up naturally.
It’s a space where you can be honest, feel seen, and work on healing without the weight of perfectionism or shame. You’re allowed to be human here.
