About Me

As someone who has been on both sides of the therapeutic relationship, I know the value and the benefit of good therapeutic work. It is through my own journey with anxiety and my past struggle to cope with life stressors that I have learned the importance of being both gentle with myself, as well as dedicated to creating healthy change when life is out of balance. As a practitioner, I work to provide a safe space for my clients to practice compassion for their present self, while working toward change that will result in a more fulfilling life. As a human, I continue to do the work in my own life so that I can be the most grounded and fulfilled version of myself. I strive to stay present and connected in my own life by going on adventures with my husband and two young girls, spending time in nature (whether it’s hiking in the Sierras or wandering through local parks), enjoying the company of friends and family, and reading a good novel.

Professional Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the mental health field for over ten years. My clinical experience has made me a firm believer in the importance of treating the whole person and I work to support my clients in learning to care for themselves in all areas of their life. I have a lot of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in residential and outpatient settings. In addition to working with adults on the individual therapy level. My areas of expertise are helping people manage anxiety, trauma symptoms, parenting and family challenges, and relationship issues.

My therapy style is flexible and I strive to tailor my treatment approach to each client’s personality and identified needs. My therapeutic technique is rooted in a combination of CBT, DBT, psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and mindfulness practice. I draw from these various modalities to support clients in integrating mind and body more fully, to be able to operate from a more centered and grounded place. I believe that being able to operate from this place allows one to access the resilience, strength and skills necessary to be able to heal wounds and manage life’s challenges. Ultimately, I value the opportunity to support my clients in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves in order to grow their ability to practice self-acceptance in place of self-judgment and to learn the skills necessary to manage symptoms and situations creating distress.

Life can be beautiful and fulfilling. It can also be incredibly stressful and difficult. Whatever your experience has been or currently is, it is valid and I am here to provide a safe space to heal and create the change you or your family member needs to lead a more fulfilling life!
