Annie McNeill, Psy.D.
Beginning at a young age, I learned firsthand how the everyday struggles of anxiety can impact daily functioning. I know anxiety not only can make school and work more challenging but also those interests that are supposed to be lighthearted and fun, including relationships, hobbies, and self-care activities, less enjoyable. With the right help, knowledge, and practice, I found that anxiety and stressors became more manageable and those lighthearted things became enjoyable again.
I collaborate with individuals and families to help reach their goals of feeling more content, balanced, and connected with themselves and others. My treatment approach focuses on the strengths a person already possesses while enhancing their knowledge about stress and anxiety. With this, individuals feel more empowered and confident to tackle everyday challenges and stressors at school or work, in relationships, and with thoughts and emotions. Through evidenced based practices, I integrate client preferences and feedback into treatment planning, allowing clients to develop a sense of agency over their own care.
I have extensive experience working with children, families, and adults in school-based, community mental health, and private practice settings. I specialize in working with children and adolescents utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My experience working with younger individuals has also highlighted the importance of working closely with parents and the family as a whole. Therefore, I regularly incorporate family therapy and parent training into my treatment approach to increase support and long-term treatment success outcomes.
I would be glad to see how I can be helpful to you and/or your family, feel free to contact me today!
